Four people were shot and killed in a Long Branch, New Jersey, home on New Year’s Eve.
According to CNN, officials responded to a call of shots fired, just 15 minutes before midnight. Upon arrival, police found the bodies of 42-year-old Linda Kologi, 44-year-old Steven Kologi, 18-year-old Brittany Kologi and 70-year-old Mary Schultz, who was a friend who lived with the family.

Following the fatal incident, a 16-year-old boy was taken into custody. However, officials have yet to determine a motive and will not release the name of the young boy, as he is still a minor. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
According to the publication, the boy is expected to be charged with four counts of murder and one count of unlawful possession of a weapon for the murder of his parents, sister and the family friend. However, PIX11 reports that the teen’s brother and grandfather made it out alive.
