Osun Pensioners Protest: Pensioners in Osun protest alleged diversion of Paris Club refund

Retired officers in Osun state have alleged that there is a plot to divert the 2nd tranche of the Paris club fund.

The retirees blocked some major roads and also barricade the road to the state secretariat.

The pensioners, who carried placards with various inscriptions, berated Governor Rauf Aregbesola for allegedly diverting various bailout funds meant for payment of salaries and for attempting to divert the N12.7bn Paris Club refund paid to the state.

The pensioners marched from Ayetoro through Old Garage to Olaiya Junction.
They were joined by a former Head of Service in the state, Segun Akinwusi, and some human rights activists.
Despite the presence of policemen who were on ground to ensure the protest was not hijacked by hoodlums, the protest caused a traffic gridlock in the capital city.
