South Africa Economy: GDP hit negative growth, plunged into recession

South Africa has entered recession for the first time in eight years, data from Statistics South Africa showed on Tuesday.  According the latest report by the French news agency, AFP, the data from Statistics South Africa in Pretoria showed the first quarter contraction was led by weak manufacturing and trade.

Africa's most advanced economy's GDP hits negative 0.7% growth in 1Q,  deeper than -0.3% in 4Q;  likely to continue in 2Q 2017
Foreign investors selling-off stocks on JSE since 2017 started, total net sales is R72.4BN
