Ondo State Govt Confirms Five Cases Of Lassa Fever

Seven cases of Lassa fever has seen confirmed in Owo and Akoko South West Local government areas of Ondo state. 

The permanent secretary in the state ministry of health, Dr. Taye Oni says the affected victims including a university student located in Owo are receiving treatment. 

Adding that the school is now free of the disease.
The Permanent Secretary noted that it was the first time the disease would occur during rainy season as it usually comes during the dry season.
He said all the health workers in the state are being sensitised on the disease, adding that the state government is collaborating with the Federal Government to control the outbreak.
Dr. Oni informed that all the cases confirmed are being treated in the isolation ward of the Federal Medical Centre, Owo.
