Billionaire Kidnapper: 90 percent of what is said about Evans false – Abba Kyari

Assistant Commissioner of Police and head of Intelligence Response Team (IRT), Abba Kyari, has urged members of the public to ignore most of the comments purportedly made by kidnap kingpin, Chukwudubem Onwuamadike, popularly known as Evans. This is coming after he filed a lawsuit against the Nigerian police over his long detention in the police custody.

Billionaire kidnapper, Evans demands N300 million compensation from the Nigerian police

In his new suit which was also brought before the Federal High Court, Lagos, the suspect is seeking a declaration that his continued detention since June 10 without arraignment violates his fundamental rights as guaranteed under the 1999 Constitution. He also sought a declaration that his parade on June 11 before journalists at the Lagos Police Command Headquarters in Ikeja, without any court order, was unconstitutional and illegal. Evans consequently sought an order compelling the respondents to immediately arraign him before a law court, or release him from custody forthwith. Also, he sought an order compelling the respondents to jointly and severally pay him the sum of N300 million as exemplary damages for illegal detention and alleged harm caused by media trial. The suspect further sought an order of perpetual injunction, restraining the respondents from further arresting, detaining, harassing, investigating or inviting him in relation to the facts of his case. No judge has been assigned to the case and no hearing date has also been fixed for this latest suit.

Suspected billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, popularly known as Evans has again filed a fresh suit against the police, demanding N300 million compensation.

This is coming less than 24 hours after he filed a suit against the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force.

Meet the couple who have been married for 80 years

Instead of giving directions, he walked them where they needed to go. “We were just going to [walk] a little ways and then quit, but we ended up going all the way,” he said. Sunday, the couple’s family and friends threw them an anniversary party, where Donald serenaded his wife with “Let Me Call You Sweetheart,” a song Donald said he used to always sing to her. So, how does a marriage survive 80 years? “Make sure the relationship is honest. Try to do what’s right in God’s eyes. It’s good to laugh together. Have fun with each other, but don’t make jokes at the expense of the other,” Donald told ABC News. Vivian added, “We don’t keep our mind on our troubles.”

Fashola lied on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway vote - Senate

The Senate has asked Minister of Works, Housing and Power, Mr.Babatunde Fashola (SAN), to stop spreading wrong information and half-truth on the slashing of the vote to Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in the 2017 budget. A statement on Saturday by Chairman, Senate Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, said the legislators worked to ensure equity across the country on all new and outstanding projects. The Senate stated that Fashola failed to give members of the public full details about the expressway, which had been under a private finance initiative from the beginning. It alleged that the minister would have preferred an arrangement that allowed his ministry to continue to award contracts and fund the project through government budgetary allocation at a time when the nation’s revenue was dwindling and at an all time low. “Even as of last year, the 2016 Appropriation Act voted N40bn for the project on the insistence of the Ministry and only N26bn was released. “If we had known, the rest of N14bn could have been allocated to other critical roads across the country,” Abdullahi said.
