Zunga’s accomplices who are still at large, managed to get in and out through one of the chimneys and got way with two computers, a laptop and a jacket but he got stuck in the other chimney which is blocked at the bottom.

Punch Metro learnt that Udeozo had jumped bail in Uli, Anambra State, some years back, after he was arrested for impersonation.

Meningitis outbreak in Sokoto 21 reportedly dead

Over twenty people are said to have died following the suspected outbreak of meningitis in Sokoto state, northwest of Nigeria.
A reliable government source confirmed this to Channels Television on Sunday.
The deaths were said to have occurred in seven local governments of Kebbe, Bodinga, Rabah, Wamakko, Gada, Dange/Shuni and Tureta.

A man dies while digging grave of an elderly woman in Ebonyi




A man identified as Ifeanyi Nwafor 29, slumped and died as he was digging the grave of a dead elderly woman in the village.

He reportedly died inside the grave he was digging.
The incident occurred in Onunwankwo village, Umuhuali community in Ishielu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

Narrating the incident to journalists, a member of the Youth Assembly in the area, Mr. Nonso Ekuma, said the deceased young man hailed from Azuegu village and participated in all the burial activities of the deceased woman, Madam Alioke Mgbanya.

Ademola Olajire, NFF’s Director of Media and Communications, said in a statement that the development was after seven players in the Burkinabe contingent failed to secure entry visas into the UK.

A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Sylva Ogwemoh has warned that the continued stay in office by the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, after two unsuccessful screening attempts at the Senate breaches the enabling law of the anti-graft agency.
The lawyer disclosed that there was no provision for the Acting Chairman under the EFCC ‎Act, 2004.
He added that since Section 3 of the EFCC act provides for Senate confirmation, the powers of the President in such appointment was not absolute.

New DSS Report Against Acting EFCC Chairman, Ibrahim Magu(photos)










The department of state services (DSS) has released a new report which provides more evidence of the corruption allegations against the acting EFCC chairman, Ibrahim Magu.

The seven-page document, signed by one Folashade Bello on behalf of DSS’ Director General Lawal Daura, is actually more indicting than what was sent to the Nigerian senate.

The report was in response to a letter sent to the DSS by the AGF dated December 19, 2016, requesting for additional documents/information.

The leaked memo which was addressed to the attorney general of the federation described Magu as a man of 'questionable integrity'.
