PDP Chairmanship Crisis: PDP inaugurates reconciliation committee

Chairman of the party's board of trustees, senator walid Jibrin appeals to members of the party who have filed cases in court to rethink their decisions in the interest of peace and unity of the party.
Senator Jibrin calls on all warring factions in the party to sheathe their sword and give peace a chance.

“God will not forgive us if we sit down and be looking at this problem with all the court cases all over the place.

“Over 15 court cases are going on and I think we should put to end all these court cases and the way we can do it is to allow all the aggrieved to come together and take away the cases from court and give support to this very important committee that will start work immediately,” Senator Jibrin said.

The Chairman of the reconciliation committee, Professor Jerry Gana, believes the committee will come up with a solution that will unite the opposition party that was in power for sixteen years before it lost to the All Progressives Congress in the 2015 presidential election.

He further promised the BoT that the committee would work assiduously to broker peace between all aggrieved PDP members.

The committee has been given seven days to submit its report.
